How can a society that created The Rules have a problem with Codigos?

Good question. The Rules were written by women for women for a specific purpose. Los codigos of the milongueros are unwritten and yet still respected in the milongas of Buenos Aires.
There are cultures involved. One doesn’t understand the other. Foreigners may never accept and respect los codigos. In time it won’t matter. Los codigos are disappearing in practice with the milongueros.
Los codigos are so engrained in me that I respect them whether or not others do.
